Recipe for 2 persones

Ingredients:

  • 300g lamb (or beef), cut into chunks

  • 1/2 cup rice

  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup plain yogurt

  • 1/4 cup water or chicken broth

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 egg

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: Juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Sear the meat: In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the lamb (or beef) and sear until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.

  3. Cook the rice: In the same pan, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until softened. Add the rice and sauté for another minute.

  4. Prepare the yogurt sauce: In a bowl, whisk the yogurt, egg, water (or broth), salt, and pepper until smooth.

  5. Assemble: In a baking dish, add the cooked meat, rice, and yogurt mixture. Stir gently to combine.

  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the meat is tender and the rice is cooked.

  7. Serve: Optionally, drizzle with lemon juice before serving for an extra layer of flavor.
