Australian & Oceanian Cuisine

Australian and Oceanian cuisine is very unique by countries like New Zealand, Fiji,Papua New Guinea and Tonga. Common spices and herbs from the region are lemon myrtle, kawakawa, and mountain horopito. Popular dishes are Green-lipped Mussels with Cheese Sauce from New Zealand and Kokoda from Fiji Islands.(Raw fish marinated in coconut cream, lime juice,with tomatoes, onions, and chili peppers.)

Local Refreshing drink from the region is Kava. (made from the roots of the kava plant, known for its relaxing effects and social significance in many Oceanian cultures.) Coconut and passionfruit are iconic fruits that showcase the beauty and richness of the Oceanian region.
