A perfect balance of tangy lime, sweet sugar, and the bold, earthy kick of cachaça, the Caipirinha is light, crisp, and irresistibly refreshing.

Key Ingredients

  • Lime: Fresh and tangy, providing the signature zest.

  • Sugar: Adds sweetness to balance the lime.

  • Sprite or Lemonade or Cachaça: Brazil’s famous sugarcane spirit, the heart of the drink.

  • Ice: Keeps it cool and refreshing.

Ingredients for 1 liter

  • 5 large limes, cut into wedges

  • 8 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 500 ml cachaça (or adjust based on preference)

  • 500 ml cold water or soda water (for balance)

  • Ice cubes (to fill the pitcher)

Instructions

  1. Muddle the Limes:

    • In a large pitcher, add the lime wedges and sugar.

    • Use a muddler or wooden spoon to crush the limes, extracting the juice and mixing it with the sugar.

  2. Add Cachaça:

    • Pour in the cachaça and stir well to dissolve the sugar completely.

  3. Balance with Water:

    • Add 500 ml of cold water or soda water for a lighter, more balanced taste. Stir gently.

  4. Add Ice:

    • Fill the pitcher with ice cubes to chill the drink.

  5. Serve:

    • Pour into glasses, ensuring each has a few lime pieces. Serve immediately for the freshest flavor.

Adjustments for Taste

  • Sweeter Caipirinha: Add more sugar.

  • Stronger Kick: Increase the cachaça to 600 ml and reduce water.

  • Non-Alcoholic Version: Replace cachaça with sparkling water or lemonade for a refreshing
