🛒 Ingredients:

4 slices thick-cut bread (Pain de Mie or sourdough)

2 tbsp butter (for toasting)

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

4 slices ham (Jambon de Paris)

100g (1 cup) grated Gruyère or Emmental cheese
🧑🍳 Béchamel Sauce:

1 tbsp butter
-
1 tbsp flour
-
125ml (½ cup) milk
-
Pinch of nutmeg
-
Salt & pepper to taste
👨🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Make the Béchamel:

Melt butter in a pan, add flour, whisk for 1 min.

Gradually add milk, whisking until thick.

Season with salt, pepper & nutmeg.
2️⃣ Assemble the Sandwiches:

Spread Dijon mustard on 2 bread slices.

Layer with ham & cheese, then cover with another slice.
3️⃣ Toast:

Butter the outside of the bread.

Cook in a pan on medium heat until golden & crispy (2-3 min per side).
4️⃣ Final Touch:

Spread béchamel sauce on top, sprinkle extra cheese.

Broil (grill) in the oven 3-5 min until bubbly & golden.
