Ingredients for 1 serving:

  • 4 ounces (about 113 grams) medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1/4 cup (about 30 grams) all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 1 small French baguette, sliced horizontally

  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

  • 1/2 tablespoon ketchup

  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 cup shredded lettuce

  • 2 slices tomato

  • 4 slices dill pickle

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).

  2. Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Dredge the shrimp in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

  4. Carefully place the coated shrimp in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  5. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and hot sauce to make the remoulade sauce.

  6. Spread the remoulade sauce on both halves of the sliced French baguette.

  7. Arrange the shredded lettuce, tomato slices, fried shrimp, and dill pickle slices on the bottom half of the baguette.

  8. Place the top half of the baguette over the filling to assemble the sandwich.

  9. Serve the Po' Boy Sandwich immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
